My Makeup Project

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved the transformative power of make-up—the way it can make women feel beautiful and confident. From a little girl wearing mom’s lipstick to a teenager learning all the basics—making some silly mistakes along the way, but always having fun! I wanted that fun to continue so I decided to study make-up artistry in college and am proud to say that I have been a production make-up artist for 25 years. During these years, I’ve created make-up magic for the Ford Agency and Irene Marie in Miami, as well as had the pleasure to work with such celebrities as Paul Simon, John Mayer, Lauren Bacall, President George and Barbara Bush, Chris Collinsworth and Kenny Chesney, to name a few.

I have also been the go to girl for natural beauty, working with producers, directors and photographers on set to create campaigns for brands like Olay, Herbal Essences, and Biore. My clients know they can rely on me to make the talent look their and feel their best so the project is a success.

The years of working on set have flown by and I have been changing too! Even though I am a makeup artist, I am also a woman over 40 who remembers when her face didn’t crease:( As I began to struggle with my eye makeup, I had to think of ways to make my eyes look lifted. I began to experiment with different techniques and teach them to others to see if they were as simple as I thought. Good news- they are!

So when a friend of mine talked to me about teaching all of my anti aging makeup tips as a video course, I thought it sounded like a great idea. A scary idea too! I began by doing my research even though I struggle with the same issues as my clients, I asked them what they want to learn about the most. Their answers had the same theme, help them look refreshed, younger, flawless without too much makeup. I started to write out exactly what to teach, what tips would be important to learn and what would be easy for women to understand. I also didn’t want it to be overwhelming, who needs that right now?

For instance, I always teach to start makeup with skincare because hydrated skin means your makeup will look smoother. It’s very important to exfoliate, protect and hydrate the skin. Next, I teach you to apply your eye makeup first, then progress through your entire routine. It’s amazing what this simple step will do to change your look. There are so many tips on how to create a mini eye lift too! Sometimes the best part of my day is hearing from my clients that they are successful using my makeup tips.

People always talk about finding your passion and to do that. Makeup and people have always brought me lots of joy, now I feel like I have the right combo to bring joy to others.
